Marc Kundmann is a painter whose work explores the people, places, and emotional landscapes of Outer Cape Cod and Mérida, Mexico. Originally a graphic designer, he turned to painting after moving to Truro in the late 1990s, developing an expressive approach that values emotion and personal connection over realism.
Working primarily in encaustic and oil, Kundmann creates paintings that invite viewers to find their own stories and connections.
His work is in the permanent collection of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) and has been exhibited widely on Cape Cod and internationally. He has been represented by numerous galleries, most notably at Addison Art Gallery on Cape Cod for almost 20 years. He maintained a studio in Provincetown for more than 15 years and has taught at PAAM’s Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Museum School.
He presently works and shows from his studio in the Mérida, Mexico's Historic Center.
